The successful planting session at Taperoo Dunes on 16 June 2025 was a great example of all sectors – volunteer, non-government environment, local and state government and corporate – working together to increase biodiversity along our coastline. Green Adelaide and Trees for Life planted 5 native species that have been lost to our Dune system. Special thanks to our friends at Semaphore Largs Dunes group for their assistance. Happily the weather remained dry and then there was a healthy downpour at 3.30pm. Thanks to everyone who helped.
This followed the successful corporate weeding session near Strathfield Terrace on Friday 13 June, hosted by the Semaphore Largs Dunes Group. The army of weeders – 80 from the corporate team and 30 from SLDG – targeted euphorbia and plantain and 4 large trailer loads were removed from the Dunes. Thanks to City of PAE officers. With these efforts and the recent rains, the Dunes are looking great.
